Discovering the ancient pilgrimage routes between Carinthia and Friuli Venezia Giulia
Friuli Venezia Giulia and central Carinthia are crossed by Ancient pilgrimage routes that lead to Santiago, Rome and Jerusalem.
Part of them are not adequately valued or have been lost; the Interreg WalkArt project is part of this context and develops along two main strands that will allow walkers, pilgrims and tourists to discover and learn about the cross-border territory through the ancient religious itineraries.
Valuing the ancient pilgrimage routes means rediscovering an itinerary of faith and culture based on the ancient routes that came from Central Europe to Venice and then Rome in order to make known the ancient ways of faith, nourishment for the spirit and places of encounter between different people and cultures.
